To My Younger Self: It Gets Easier, I Promise

Spaces

You will learn what it is like to have the same friends be there for you one day and not the next, you will be anxious over grades, and you won’t want to grow up. Friends will come and go, but some will stay around. Hold on to those. Don’t let boys or tiny differences or what other people think get in the way of those lasting friendships. People will change, you will change and life just happens. I know it’s hard but don’t take life so seriously, shit happens and move on. That’s all there is to it.

There will be days where you don’t feel like you’re doing your best or your feeling overwhelmed. Quit over-extending yourself and take a step back to examine life and smell the damn roses. People will tell you what you can and cannot do. Don’t listen. You can do/be/accomplish anything that you set your mind to. Take the trips, indulge in the experiences, make mistakes. Don’t regret anything, you’re learning through all these experiences.

Always remember to be undeniably yourself, take the time to be selfish and find that thing that’s really you. It gets easier, I promise. Or rather, you grow and adapt and learn. You never know what the world has in store for you, enjoy the ride.

Oh, and last piece of advice – don’t date that dickwad in sophomore year of college.
